leaving on a jet plane

Tomorrow we leave to head back to the good ole US of A. It has been a great trip to the Republic of Malawi. Please remember us as we will be traveling for about 36 hours trying to get home. Pray that our luggage arrives on time with everything in it and nothing is broken (wood carvings).

Thanks for taking time to read my blog for the past week and a half. It has been great seeing God move among our group. I believe 414 people professed Christ the past week. It has been amazing. My prayer is that we continue to share Christ like we do here. So many times we find it easy to share Christ on the mission field but not at home. What a shame.

We leave tomorrow at 3:05 pm (7:05 am Tulsa time) so please remember us. Have a great day and I look forward to having some pictures downloaded soon for you to see. Take care and God bless.

Tuesday

Today was our last day of "ministry" in Malawi. Yesterday (Monday) we spent the entire day at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Malawi. We spent the day sharing with Pastors of Malawi on purity and integrity. I preached two one-hour sermons. It was a bit tough because I generally only preach 30 minutes. But Jamie Powell, one of our Pastors with us, preached four sermons that were one hour each. It was material he had prepared for other men's meetings. He did a great job.

Today we spent the morning witnessing in the urban area. Dalitso (my translator) and I were able to lead 7 to the Lord. With the rest of the team, we lead over 20. It was another great day serving the Lord and sharing the love of Jesus.

Tomorrow we will be going to the Baptist Clinic and Orphanage then to Lake Malawi for some rest and fun. We leave Thursday and get home Friday night.

I will update when I get home. Thanks for your prayers and have a wonderful day.

saturday

It was another great day here in Malawi. Today we went back to the same area we were in yesterday. Dulitso, my translator, and I went and God blessed us by 54 people giving their life to Christ. It was a great day as the team saw almost 100 profess Christ.

It was also a great day to play with the kids. The kids love to see the azunga (white person) come down the street. Their smiles are always a joy to see.

Tomorrow we will be preaching in 5 different churches. I am preaching at the church that meets at the seminary. Please be praying for the team as we share to the love of Christ to the churches.

I hope everyone is having a great day and God continues to bless you.

awesome

Today was an amazing day, but so was yesterday.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to lead 31 people to salvation in Christ. But today was even better. God lead me to share with 70 people who responded to the Gospel. It was so amazing. The people of Malawi have such a works based faith. Please continue to pray for us as we share.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we will be back in the same area doing the same thing, hopefully with the same results. Sunday we are preaching in 5 different churches with the 5 team members. Please pray that we share what God wants us to tell them.

I look forward to sharing with you what God does. Check back tomorrow as I hope to share. Thanks so much and God bless.

great things

Today was a great day. We split up into twos and went witnessing in the streets of a few villages. I was able to lead a group of 7 and a group of 8 to the Lord. The people of Malawi are very receptive and have such a works based faith due to the Catholic legacy. I was also able to meet the chief of one of the villages and his wife. They are believers so we were able to encourage them and pray for them.

One of the families we lead to the Lord asked if we could get them a Bible. The father wants to use it to read to his family. What an awesome thing. Isn't that the responsiblity of all fathers?

As a whole, the team was able to lead over 30 people to Christ. Please continue to pray for us as we minister to the people in the villages and work with the churches. God is truly working and seeing great things. God bless.

HERE

We are finally in Malawi. We left Tulsa at 5:45 pm on Sunday and our last plane touched down in Malawi at 2:53 pm (Tuesday) and 6:53 am (Tulsa Time - Tuesday). It took, what seemed like, forever to get here. Spending the night in the airport in Washington, DC at the ticket counter was a little less than fun. Actually it was rough.

Allof our luggage arrived which is a huge answer to prayers. Please continue to pray for us as we begin ministry early tomorrow morning.

I had a chance to share Christ with a girl on the flight from Ethiopia to Malawi. She and the girl with her are students from Belguim. She said she was raised religious but is not really doing it now. She was not really ready to talk about Christ but I left her a MOST IMPORTANT THING card which is a website that has my testimony and a place to respond to Christ. Keep her and her friend in your prayers as they are in Malawi for 3 months working with Special Needs kids.

Thanks for reading. I am going to try and update when I can. Have a wonderful day and keep my family in your prayers at home. Love you girls!
